For the love of children

In mid-October, the Government of Quebec announced that it would be permitted to celebrate Halloween while respecting certain guidelines.

But what about underprivileged children, knowing that few people would open their doors during a pandemic and that these little ones would not be spoiled as others?

So, the idea of going to them came to me. I talked about it with a friend of the Movement who I knew would be enthusiastic.

No sooner said than done. We bought chips, treats and bags. Masked, we spent an evening together filling 50 relatively large bags with treats and lots of love! What a joy it was for us, this idea to go out and meet the kids in our neighbourhood.

On Halloween night, as soon as the sun went down, we headed into the underprivileged areas and drove around the streets. As soon as children were in sight, "S" would get out of the car and go up to them to hand them bags with a long handle that she had decorated for the occasion.

How gratifying it was to see the joy of these children and teenagers who could not gather during this time of pandemic.

That evening, we went home gratified and happy to have been able to make a difference in the lives of a few children... for one evening.
